## Claude Code Skill

This repo ships a Claude Code skill that lets Claude manage Trello autonomously — creating cards, moving work across lists, searching boards, and more.

### Install the Skill

Add the skill to your project's `.claude/settings.json`:

Or install globally in `~/.claude/settings.json` to use it across all projects.

Once installed, Claude Code will automatically use the skill whenever you ask it to interact with Trello. Try prompts like:

- "Create a card on my Project board in the To Do list"
- "Move all cards labeled 'done' to the Done list"
- "Search for cards mentioning 'bug' across all boards"

> **Note:** The `trello` binary must be installed and authenticated (see below) for the skill to work.

## Prerequisites: Trello API Key

Before using the CLI, you need a Trello API key and token:

1. Log in to [Trello](https://trello.com)
2. Go to the [Power-Up admin page](https://trello.com/power-ups/admin)
3. Create a new Power-Up (it doesn't need to do anything — it's just the container for your API credentials)
4. In your Power-Up's settings, go to the **API Key** tab and click **Generate a new API Key**
5. Click the **Token** hyperlink next to your API key, approve the permissions, and copy the token

## Quick Start

Authenticate via the Connector Power-Up (recommended — no API key needed):

# Enter the displayed pairing code in the CLI Connector Power-Up on your Trello board
trello auth status --pretty
```

Or store credentials manually:

trello auth set --api-key  --token 
trello auth status --pretty
```

List your boards:

```

Use `--pretty` on any command to indent the JSON.
