What is BASTION?

BASTION is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that gives Claude agents real-time access to comprehensive crypto market intelligence. Through a single SSE connection, your Claude agent gains 49 specialized tools spanning market data, derivatives analytics, on-chain intelligence, AI-powered risk evaluation, portfolio management, and autonomous trading execution.

At its core, BASTION is powered by a fine-tuned 72B parameter AI model that analyzes 560+ real-time signals across derivatives flow, on-chain metrics, macro indicators, whale activity, and market microstructure. The model was trained on thousands of validated trade outcomes and delivers structured risk assessments with explicit reasoning, confidence scores, and actionable recommendations -- not just price predictions, but complete risk intelligence.

Unlike traditional crypto APIs that return raw data and leave interpretation to the user, BASTION's MCP tools deliver contextual intelligence. When your Claude agent calls bastion_evaluate_risk, it doesn't just get numbers -- it gets a structured analysis that synthesizes open interest changes, funding rates, CVD divergence, whale positioning, liquidation clusters, and market structure into a single coherent risk assessment with a recommended action and full reasoning chain.

Quick Start

BASTION connects via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) over Server-Sent Events. No local installation required -- the server runs in the cloud.

How it works:

1. Your Claude agent receives a user request (e.g., "evaluate my BTC long")
2. Claude selects the appropriate BASTION tools via MCP
3. Tool calls are sent over SSE to the BASTION server
4. BASTION authenticates, rate-limits, and routes to the correct handler
5. The Risk Intelligence Core aggregates data from multiple sources, runs the fine-tuned 72B model if needed, and returns structured results
6. Claude synthesizes the tool results into a natural language response

Authentication

BASTION uses API keys prefixed with bst_ to control access. Keys are scoped to specific permission levels:

Getting an API Key

1. Visit bastionfi.tech/account
2. Create an account or sign in
3. Generate an API key with the scopes you need
4. Add the key to your MCP connection URL

Key Security

• API keys are transmitted over HTTPS only
• Keys can be revoked instantly from the dashboard
• Each key has configurable rate limits
• Trading and engine scopes require explicit opt-in
