Ask exactly one question at a time, leading with your recommended option and why. Fold each answer in before choosing the next question; a settled answer often dissolves later questions. Record each decision with its rationale verbatim, not paraphrased into something easier to implement.
Never: bundle questions; re-ask a settled decision; substitute your preference for an unanswered one.
Return: settled decisions with rationale, and remaining open questions.
