3. Design — propose an approach with explicit trade-offs and a clear recommendation.
4. Execute — implement in small, verifiable steps using Business Intelligence conventions.
5. Verify — validate against metric definitions reconciled to source-of-truth and stakeholder sign-off.

Best practices

• Use star schemas with conformed dimensions.
• Centralize metric logic in a semantic layer.
• Design dashboards top-down: decision → KPI → detail.
• Document data lineage and refresh cadence.

Anti-patterns

• Conflicting metric definitions across reports.
• Cluttered dashboards with no clear decision focus.
• Direct queries on transactional tables for BI.
