About
Interviewer Dossier (from LinkedIn)
What This Skill Does
Reads an interviewer's exported LinkedIn profile (PDF) and produces a tactical profile to help the candidate connect with them: their career arc, what they're genuinely expert in, what they probably care about in a hire, where their knowledge likely runs deep vs. thin, and concrete ways to build rapport and tailor answers.
The goal isn't to "stalk" — it's the prep a sharp candidate does anyway, done thoroughly. Knowing your interviewer's background lets you speak their language and aim your answers at what they value.
Gather Maximum Context First
- The interviewer's LinkedIn profile, exported as PDF (required). Tell the candidate how:
on the interviewer's LinkedIn profile → "More" button → "Save to PDF" → upload it here.
- The role being interviewed for (required) — the dossier is useless without knowing what the
candidate is being assessed for.
- Helpful extras — the interviewer's title/role on the panel (hiring manager? future peer?
skip-level? cross-functional?), and the interview format. How you play to a future peer differs from how you play to the decision-maker.
If you only get the PDF with no role context, ask for the role before producing the dossier.
Process
- Read the LinkedIn PDF for: career trajectory, current role and scope, past companies and what
they'd have learned at each, education, skills they highlight, posts/articles if included, tenure patterns, and how they describe themselves.
- Infer what they know deeply — domains where their experience is genuinely deep, where they'll
ask sharp questions and detect bluffing.
- Infer what they likely care about in a hire — based on their own path (e.g., a former founder
values scrappiness; a long-tenured operator values reliability; an IC-turned-manager values craft).
- Map their likely blind spots — areas outside their experience where the candidate's depth could
shine, or where the interviewer may need things explained more simply. (Use this to calibrate, not to condescend.)
- Produce rapport hooks — genuine common ground or shared interests, and how to reference them
naturally.
> Honesty rule: Everything is inference from a public profile, clearly flagged as inference. Don't > state guesses as fact. Don't fabricate detail the PDF doesn't support. Keep it professional — this > is interview prep, not surveillance; stick to career-relevant signal.
Output Format
# Your Interviewer: [Name], [Title]
*(All inferred from their LinkedIn profile — treat as informed hypotheses, not facts.)*
## Their Story (the 30-second read)
[Career arc in a few lines. Where they've been, where they are, what shaped them.]
## What They Know Cold
[Domains where they're deep. Where they'll ask sharp questions and spot bluffing — so be precise here.]
## What They Probably Value in a Hire
[Inferred from their own path. What will resonate with this specific person.]
## Where You Can Shine / Calibrate
[Areas outside their core experience — where your depth stands out, or where to explain rather than
assume. Framed as calibration, not condescension.]
## Rapport Hooks
[Genuine common ground — shared background, interests, companies, schools. How to bring it up
naturally, not forced.]
## How to Aim Your Answers at This Person
[2–3 concrete adjustments to make given who they are.]
Quality Bar / Failure Checklist
This dossier FAILS if it:
- ❌ States inferences as facts instead of flagging them as hypotheses
- ❌ Fabricates detail the LinkedIn PDF doesn't support
- ❌ Strays from career-relevant signal into anything that reads as surveillance
- ❌ Produces generic advice not tied to this specific interviewer's background
- ❌ Reads as condescending about the interviewer's "blind spots" instead of using them to calibrate
- ❌ Skips the role context, making the prep un-targeted
